Yesterday, I signed up for something that just may save my life! Well, not in the life or death way.. but I have lots of faith that it will help me. See.. I am a very forgetful person and am 99% sure I have ADD.. things are always just slipping my mind and I forget to do things and then I think about it and say "I HAVE to do that when I get home!" but my mind goes onto something else and this all repeats for days!
So.. my fiancé says that I have no excuse bc I have an iPhone and can put things in it.. and there are so many to do list apps. But I kinda wanted something I could also use on my computer and would have more features. So I looked around and most sites were really simple, but then I settled on RememberTheMilk.com. The only downside is that the app will cost $25 a year after my current 15 day trial. I'm not too sad though bc the website is free.. (which can be used on any phone with internet anyways!) and they have a twitter account that you can text direct messages too (on any phone) to use the service.
This is great for anyone really, but it's very good for those planning wedding bc it can get a little crazy! There are checklists everywhere. Here you can make your own and put a tag on each to do item, such as "wedding." But while you're planning a wedding, your life is not completely compirised of the to dos on a wedding checklist! And it is so easy to get so caught up in everything that you forget to pay a bill, or get your dog updated on shots, or cancel your Netflix trial! And sometimes you may realize that it has been quite a while since you talked to one of your bridesmaids. One great way to use it is have a "relationships" tag and write in "contact Joe Shmo" and set it to repeat every 99 (or so!) days. This may even be a good way to keep in contact with some exs that are still friends but you want to make sure you don't talk to TOO much.
Also.. when you log into the site it will show you what is due today, and there is another tab for tomorrow, and then one for things that are overdue. There is also a weekly planner that gives you a nice weekly list that you may print out (or just look at to see a nice overview) showing the tasks by day for a week starting with today.
They have forums and a blog that gives lots of tips too. I hope that some of you will find this site useful, and if you are using it already then feel free to share some unique ways you use it.
